Robert “Mac” McLennan is President and CEO of Minnkota Power Cooperative, a generation and transmission cooperative based in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Minnkota provides wholesale electricity to 11 member cooperatives serving nearly 170,000 member-consumers across eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota.
Mac has spent 31 years in cooperative leadership, including 14 years leading Minnkota. He has served as Director of Environmental Affairs for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) and as a Vice President for a Colorado-based generation and transmission cooperative.
At the national level, Mac has chaired the NRECA National Resolutions Committee and served on the NRECA Regulatory Committee. In addition, he serves on the boards of the Energy and Environmental Research Development Foundation and the Lignite Energy Council.
Mac’s career has been guided by a strong commitment to cooperative principles and to improving life in rural America. He continues to focus on collaboration, innovation and service to ensure cooperatives and the communities they serve remain strong well into the future.
